Haute Couture 2022

Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2022

A look at the haute couture collections presented by fashion houses for the Spring-Summer 2022 season suggests that all of them decided to return to their roots and reinterpret their brand DNA. In addition to classic and concise silhouettes, the collections on the runway featured an abundance of ruffles, flounces, feathers and crystals. Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry focused on black for the SS 2022 haute couture season. The looks were complemented by gold pieces, metallic constructions and surreal accessories that made the complete looks to a piece of art. Chanel’s collection was influenced by the spirit of the 1920s: skirts and dresses with feather or fringe embroidery, plaid and striped prints. All looks were complemented by two-tone Mary Jane shoes. Inspired by Rome, Kim Jones presented his third collection as creative director of the Fendi women’s line. Column dresses, cassocks similar capes worn by clergymen. The color content of the collection also has a direct reference to the religious theme. In Valentino’s couture collection, besides the basic trends, the designer decided to focus on perfect cuts and silhouettes. However, crystals, feathers, ruffles and fancy accessories add a certain chic to the looks on the runway. The aesthetic of Giambattista Valli haute couture Collection lies not only in the opulent, multi-layered dresses, but also in the theme of femininity, lightness and naivety. We noticed this again when we looked at the new luxurious collection that the designer presented in Paris.
